Destroyed from Within

Someone please explain to me the difference between what Reagan and Thatcher did to the Soviet Union in the 80s and what President Obama is doing to the United States at this time.

In the 80s Reagan/Thatcher convinced the Soviets they were in an offensive military build up race against Reagan's SDI (Star Wars) initiative.  Trying to keep pace, they deficit spent till their economy ultimately collapsed under its own weight.  The key is that this was DONE TO THEM.

The past four years and undoubtedly the next four, based on the deal he rammed through Congress yesterday, ($41 new spending/$1 new revenue) President Obama is doing to the United States what Reagan/Thatcher did to the USSR.  His deficit spending (with $0 return), (Keynesian followers are free to prove me wrong), is doing to our country from within, what we did to the Soviets in the 80s.
